Donald Freeman

Donald E. “Donny” Freeman, 44, of 168 Pinola Road, Shippensburg, Pa., passed away Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, in the Hershey Medical Center.

Born Dec. 14, 1966, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of Mrs. Beatrice L. (Ebersole) Freeman, Quincy, Pa., and the late Clarence D. “Sam” Freeman.
Donny was a graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the Class of 1985.

He and his wife, Carol E. (Harper) Freeman, were married Dec. 16, 2006, in Shippensburg.

Donny was employed as a welder at Grove Manufacturing, Shady Grove, Pa., at Volvo in Shippensburg and was currently employed for Crown Bolt, also of Shippensburg.

He was the guitarist for the band Uncensored and he enjoyed spending time with his children and riding his motorcycle.

In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by three children, Donald E. Freeman Jr. of South Mountain, Pa., and twins Christian D. Freeman and Halie M. Freeman, both of Shippensburg; four sisters, Mary Talbert of Hagerstown, Md., and Donna Freeman, Rebecca Levick and Kimberly Hite, all of Waynesboro; two brothers, Samuel Freeman and Clarence Freeman Jr., both of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, in Grove-Bowersox

Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with his father-in-law, the Rev. Carl Harper Sr., officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Quincy.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, in order to defray funeral expenses, memorial contributions may be made to: Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, Pa. 17268.
