Eric Helfrick

Eric Drake Helfrick, 47, of Buckner, MO, passed away unexpectedly July 2, 2015 at the home of his brother, Troy, in Waynesboro, PA.

Born August 9, 1967 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of Jerry Barnhart, and his wife, Linda of Greencastle, PA; Linda (McKean) Helfick, of Waynesboro, and his adopted father, Harold E. E. Helfrick, Waynesboro.

He graduated from Waynesboro High School with the class of 1985, and joined the U.S. Army, serving from 1986 until 1988. He was stationed in Germany.

Living in Missouri for the past ten years, he was employed as an assembler for Ford Motor Company; prior to that he worked for Lake City Ammo.

Eric enjoyed golfing and riding his Harley. He loved his beer and charming the ladies; a fun loving rebel who lived for the day.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Dolores Crumbacker of Greencastle, PA; three step-brothers: Jerry Barnhart, Jr., and his wife, Jessica, of Greencastle; Sidney Barnhart, and his wife, Parsha, of Greencastle, and Troy Helfrick of Waynesboro; two step-sisters: Sheila Helfrick, of Greencastle, and Rose Clever, and her husband, Roger, of St. Thomas, PA, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Aunt Lillian "Liz" Barnhart, who he loved and adored.

Eric had a uniqueness that made him stand out.  He told you the way it was, no BS!  His sense of humor will be missed.
