Mr. Anthony E. Moats, Sr., 47, of 4660 Sycamore Grove Road, Chambersburg, died at 12:54 P.M., Tuesday, February 4, 2014 in his home. Born July 4, 1966 in Waynesboro, he was the son of Norvel Moats of Waynesboro and the late Betty Mae (Baker) Moats, who passed away on September 20, 2013. Mr. Moats was a graduate of Waynesboro High School with the Class of 1985. He and his wife of over 21 years, Karen S. (Traxler) Moats, were married September 14, 1992. Mr. Moats was employed as a forklift operator for various local businesses including Ventura Foods, Little Tikes, and JLG. He enjoyed hunting and working with his hands. His also loved to ride his Harley and work on his Mustang. In addition to his father and wife, he is survived by two sons, Anthony E. Moats, Jr. and Christopher Moats, both at home; two sisters, Norma Cook of Zullinger, PA and Barbara Lightfoot of Waynesboro; two half-sisters, Marsha Arnparger of Chambersburg, Connie Greenwalt of Cascade, MD; four half-brothers, Dennis Morgan of Chambersburg, Douglas Morgan of Waynesboro, Steve Morgan of Fairfield, and Norvel Moats, Jr. of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 8, 2014 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Pastor Craig Oury officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Saturday morning, in the funeral home.
